Pork Hamonado
Here's another special Filipino dish that usually served during Christmas season specially "Noche Buena" and other special occasions in the Philippines the Pork Hamonado.

This dish is simply sweetened pork stuffing of carrot, pineapple, pickles, sausages or hot dog in pineapple sauce.


This coming Christmas holiday try this recipe along with other sumptuous dishes.

Good for serving:  5 - 7 persons
Pork Hamonado Ingredients:
  • 1 kilo pork pigue, sliced thinly to make 2 pieces into flat sheet, 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 cups pineapple juice 
  • 2 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 1 cup white sugar 
  • 5 pieces hole sweet pickles, sliced 
  • 4 pieces sausages
  • 1 carrot, sliced 
  • 1 can sliced pineapple, 
  • 4 pieces cut into chunks (the remaining pineapple save for garnish)
Pork Hamonado Cooking Instruction:
  • Using a bowl, mix the sugar, salt, and ground pepper then rub into pork meat.
  • Arrange the sausage, pickles, carrot, pineapple chunks in pork meat
  • Roll the pork, keeping the filling in the center, tie with a string  
  • Marinate the pork meat overnight in pineapple juice
  • After marinating, then put the pork and marinade juice into pan with medium heat, then simmer for about 1 hour
  • Remove the thread from meat or chill if desired for ease of cutting. Continue simmering the marinade for 5 minutes or until thick and serve as sauce.
  • Let cool before slicing the meat then arrange in a platter.
