Nilagang Baboy - consider as one of the comfort food of every Filipino family during rainy and cold season. The yummy hot soup taste of the dish from the pork, vegetables and herbs gives more relaxing and enjoyable eating time. This is simple and easy to prepare, it's just boiled the meat into water until tender and add the selected vegetable of your choice.
Good for serving: 4-6 persons
Ingredients:
- 1 kilo pork (choices ribs, belly or bony parts) cut into serving pieces
- 1.5 liter, water
- 1 medium size, onion, cut quatered
- 1 teaspoon, whole black pepper
- 1 medium size, cabbage, cut into 6 pieces
- 1 bunch, pechay tagalog or baguio
- 100 grams, Baguio beans
- 1 large size, potato, cut into 6 pieces
- 2 pieces, banana (saging na saba), cut into 2 pieces
- 1 pork broth cube
- salt to taste
Cooking Procedure:
- In a large pot, put in the pork, onion, black pepper, salt and water, boiled meat until to tender.
- Add baguio beans, potato, banana and pork broth cube, then simmer 2-3 minutes.
- Add cabbage and pechay.
- Add salt according to your taste, then turn off the heat.
- Serve hot in a large bowl.
- Chow and enjoy!
