Halo-Halo

Halo-halo (from Tagalog word halò, "mix") is a popular Filipino dessert that is a mixture of shaved ice and evaporated milk to which are added various boiled sweet beans and fruits, and served in a tall glass or bowl. Halo halo is quite a best selling Filipino food/dessert/refreshment during the summer season.
Good for serving: 3 - 4 persons

Halo-halo Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Boiled kidney beans
  • 1 cup Boiled garbanzos
  • 1 cup Boiled palm fruit (kaong)
  • 1 cup Boiled coconut sport (macapuno)
  • 1 cup Sweetened jackfruit (langkâ)
  • 1 cup Sweetened nata de coco
  • 1 cup Sweetened saba banana
  • 1 cup Cooked sago
  • Lechen flan
  • Ube haleya
  • 4 scoop Ice cream
  • 4 Teaspoon pounded crushed young rice (pinipig)
  • 2 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 2 Shaved/Crushed ice
  • White Sugar for the taste

Halo-Halo Cooking Instruction:
  1. Half-fill a tall glass with your choice of sweets. Fill with shaved/crushed ice. Top with ice cream, ube haleya or leche flan. Serve with milk and sugar.
