Pinaputok na Tilapia (Popped Tilapia) Recipe

Pinaputok means to pop up and tilapia is a type of meat fish; thus in English this dish is called "popped tilapia." 

This Pinaputok na tilapia recipe is absolutely delicious as a result of the fresh vegetables which serve as fresh bedding and toppings and when cooked are absorbed into the fish. You can also add some vegetables such as carrot and celery if you wish. This dish can be prepared on a grill, fry or in conventional oven. The indication of the dish being cooked is when the foil swells and is close to popping. The juice from the fish and vegetables is undeniably perfect when pour in rice. 

Embutido (Filipino meatloaf) Recipe

An Embutido is a generic term for sausages found in Spain, Portugal, the Philippines, and Central and South America. There are several type of embutido all over the world.

Generally, embutido contains hashed meat, generally pork, seasoned with aromatic herbs or spices (black pepper, red pepper, paprika, garlic, rosemary, thyme, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, or others) that is served wrapped in the skin of the pig's intestines

Soimai Recipe

Siomai is a Chinese dumpling dish. This popular dumpling has conquered the taste buds of the Filipinos. It is usually sold in hundreds of stalls, eateries, and restaurants all over the Philippines. One can order different kinds of siomai but the base is always pork or either beef. Traditionally cooked through steaming, siomai nowadays are also served fried complimented with soy sauce, calamansi and chili sauce.

Filipino makes different variety of soimai because of availability of the ingredients. But basically it makes use of ground pork/beef and shrimp as the main ingredients.

Leche Flan is the Filipino term for the originally Spanish flan de leche, literally “milk flan”, which is a heavier version of the Spanish flan made with condensed milk and more egg yolks. Leche flan is usually steamed over an open flame or stove top, although rarely it can also be seen baked. This recipe  is a staple in celebratory feasts like Christmas and other special occasions it is also use leche flan for topping in "Halo-halo" to make it more creamier.

Pinaupong Manok (Sitting Chicken) Recipe

Pinaupong manok or "sitting chicken" is traditional way of cooking of whole chicken that  sit on a bed of rock salt and no liquid is added. The chicken is cook in the combined steam generated from the water content of the salt as well as its own. It also absorbs all the natural flavor of the rock salt. This dish is served with with soy sauce and kalamansi or lemon juice.

Traditional way of cooking pinaupong manok is to cook it in a palayok, the native earthenware pot. But, there’s nothing wrong with using any large, thick stainless steel casserole or any available in your kitchen.
